Built by someone who's done the work

Before I ever wrote a line of a product spec, I was the one running a pet food pantry program on paper logs and spreadsheets — logging visits by hand, cross-referencing names to avoid duplicate records, and cobbling together reports every time a grant application needed numbers.

I didn't set out to become a software builder. But after enough days spent wrestling with spreadsheets that weren't built for this, I decided to build the tool that would make life easier for myself and other organizations.

LutraPets is the result, starting with LP Pantry: a pet pantry-tracking tool designed the way someone who's actually stood at a shelter handing out dog food would design it. Built mobile-first, because that's how it actually gets used. Built with household matching, because duplicate records are a real, annoying problem. Built with real reporting, because the work only continues with the support of your board and funders.

It's just the beginning. LutraPets is growing into a small platform of tools for animal welfare organizations — starting with Pantry, and expanding based on what shelters and rescues actually need, not what looks good in a pitch deck.
